Yan Ting is currently studying in Victoria Junior College. In her free time, she likes to play table tennis and guitar. She also enjoys learning Calligraphy and Taekwondo. She believes that everyone has a part to play in making this community that we are living in a more beautiful place. Since young, Yan Ting has always had the passion for community service. Also, being a student in the Science faculty, she hopes that she will get the honour of studying Environmental Science in the future. As the Swedish proverb goes, “Shared Sorrow is Half Sorrow, Shared Joy is Double Joy.” Over the past few years, Yan Ting has gained much experience through various events like EnvirOlympics, the Annual Water Day, Paint a House, visits to Elderly homes as well as bringing autistic children out. Despite being new to the YEC and being only 17 this year, she knows that there are many members out there who are actively involved in serving the community and whom she can learn from. She is thankful that she has received more opportunities to contribute to the society, and to be a part of something bigger than herself, after joining the YEC. And she hopes that for many more years to come, she can continue to do so.
